Inside mount requires a minimum window depth of 1.5", and it is suggested to deduct 0.25" for installation security gap. For outside mount, the width you purchase is exactly the width you get. It is suggested to add 4" to the width and height. Mounting hardware and installation instructions are included, making the installation process very easy.
